It was constructed to let the Emperor drive directly into the main hall of the Opera

It was delayed because a war in 1870 and a fire in 1873

Charles Garnier was chosen to design the Opera

What was the purpose of the underground lake?

It was created to make the foundation of the building safe

What are the four allegorical groups on the facade?

The four groups on the facade are: Music, Lyric poetry, lyric drama and Dance

WHY ARE THIS PLACES IMPORTANT?

The Opera House: Because it’s a great architectal work of the 9th century. Symbolises the Opulence of the Second Empire

The tour Eiffel:  It was never supposed to stay there. It was designed it for the temporary exposition Universally (to demonstrate France’s industrial power to the world). It looked so estrange and became so popular that they didn’t destroy it 

The Sacre Coeur: Is one of the biggest bells of the world

Notre Dame: Was the most significant religious building in the city. Is the most famous Gothic cathedrals of the Middle Edge.

The Pantheon: It’s a building in the Latin Quarter in Paris. It was a church dedicated to St. Genevieve but now it functions as a repository for the remains of great French citizens, including Voltaire, Marie Curie…

Arc the triomphe: It’s famous because it was commissioned by Napoleonmand because many artists have contributed to its creation

Les invalides. Is famous as the final resting place of Napoleon. 

Musée de Cluny: Because it’s the national museum of the modern edge.

Place république: Is becoming the largest facto pedestrian space in Paris

Cemetery Père Lachaise: It take tourist attraction for its tombs of notable figures. It’s the cemetery most visited of the world.
